#LONGBOW CONVERTER AUTOCAD UPDATE#
The Longbow Converter will update your installer media so that your 32bit AutoCAD will install and run normally on your 64bit Windows 7 or Windows Vista. Given this excellent help, I'll be on here from now on dipping in where I can to help others. The one thing I have noticed is that it's unbelievably quick - I'm using an SSD drive, I timed it and AutoCAD 2008 starts in 3 seconds - it's ripping!!Īgain, thanks for your help. So, I tried the option you mentioned this morning.Īnd I have to say, wow that was easy - I'm totally up and running! I'll report back in a few weeks to let you all know how it's running, but so far it seems totally normal, everything is working fine. Also, I really wanted to avoind the VM route if possible. It goes against my grain to use a 32bit OS for my lovely new expensive Intel i7 SSD 16GB RAM machine, so Windows 7 32bit I'd rather avoid. BTW: if anyone from Autodesk can leave a message here to let us know if this converter is ok for Autodesk or not would be great! Download free wild game innovations cameras. An option I'm not sure if it's really working (and if it's really legal as it seems to modify setup-data from the AutoCAD setup package) is. Another option is to use virtual machine like VmWare, within the VmWare install XP 32bit and your AutoCAD 2008 32bit. The second best solution: speak with the developer of this app to get it ported to 64bit. Hi, the best solution: use Win7 32bit, it's then clean and not based on workarounds.

Does someone know the *best* option for me please? Thanks so much everyone Jason. I've read around and around, I'm very confused as to what to do. Obviously, I can't install AutoCAD otherwise I would not be here:-) Also, I am totally dependent on a 32bit 3rd party ARX application that was built specifically for my company and our setup so 64bit AutoCAD is not an option for me. I have AutoCAD 2008 32bit, and I've just bought a new machine and installed Windows 7 64bit on it to test how it will perform. Hi there I'm new, so please excuse me if this is the wrong place to post this.
